Financial Security

No matter what your financial goals look like, we can help you get there! Here are some ways you can save for your short- and long-term future as a Pfizer colleague.

401(k) Savings Plan

It’s never too early to start saving for your future, and Pfizer’s 401(k) Savings Plan provides a significant opportunity for you to do just that! You can contribute up to 30 percent of your eligible pay each paycheck to your 401(k) account on a before-tax, Roth, and/or after-tax basis.

There are two types of contributions to help you…

Pfizer Matching Contribution

Pfizer will match up to 4.5% of eligible pay each quarter depending on how much you contribute. You are immediately vested in Pfizer matching contributions.

Pfizer Retirement Savings Contribution

Each year, Pfizer provides a Retirement Savings Contribution of 5–9 percent of your eligible pay (based on your age and service) regardless of your participation, and you’re fully vested after 3 years of service.

Reimbursement Accounts

Looking for more ways to save? We offer four tax-advantaged reimbursement accounts that you can contribute to using before-tax dollars to help you save money on eligible health care and dependent care expenses.

Dependent Care Account (DCA)

For eligible dependent care expenses, such as child (day care/summer camp) or elder care.

General Purpose Health Care Account (GPHCA)

For eligible medical, prescription, dental, and vision expenses.

Limited Purpose Health Care Account (LPHCA)

For eligible dental and vision expenses, and eligible medical and prescription expenses after you meet your deductible when you are enrolled in Pfizer’s high deductible health plan (HDHP).

Health Savings Account (HSA)

For eligible medical, prescription, dental, and vision expenses when you are enrolled in Pfizer’s high deductible health plan (HDHP). Pfizer may also contribute to your account!

Life & Disability Insurance

We recognize that it’s crucial to protect your finances when caring for yourself and your loved ones when the unexpected occurs.

  • Short-term disability (STD) leave provides a percentage of your pay when you are out of work for an illness up to 26 weeks per year
  • A fixed amount of life insurance and long-term disability coverage for yourself at no cost with the option to elect more coverage
  • Supplemental life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance for you and your eligible dependents, as well as
  • Company provided business travel and accident insurance to cover you while traveling for work

Financial Education & Guidance

You’ve learned a bit about the financial benefits offered at Pfizer, but no financial plan is one size fits all, and navigating your finances on your own can be confusing. Luckily, there are resources to help you understand and take advantage of our benefits, including planning consultants, financial assessments, and free financial counseling.

Retiree Medical

Once you have at least 15 years of service with Pfizer after age 40, you and eligible dependents will have subsidized medical coverage under Pfizer’s Retiree Medical Plan. This coverage provides a choice of options and includes vision and prescription drug coverage both before and after you become eligible for Medicare. You will also have access to voluntary retiree dental coverage.
